In 2014, Ukraine faced such an extraordinary problem. The war in eastern Ukraine and the occupation and annexation of Crimea by Russia led to the fact that many people were forced to leave their homes and move to safer places in the country or to other states. As a result of such internal migration activity, Ukraine entered the top ten countries in terms of the number of internally displaced persons. Russia’s open military invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 caused a new surge in the mass internal displacement of the population. That is why there is an urgent need to study the issue of social protection of internally displaced persons and the problematic aspects arising in this area. The purpose of the article is to identify problems that arise when ensuring the rights of internally displaced persons and to develop ways to solve them. The methodological basis of the research is general scientific and special scientific methods, such as system-structural, structural-functional, analysis and synthesis, comparative, and formal-legal.
