Intensification of interstate competition and confrontation in this space acquires all signs of the fundamental needs of the individual, community, state, and society as a whole. Information security in modern conditions is an important objective prerequisite for successful functioning and progressive development of the state, nation, and civilization. The work established that Ukraine lags far behind the world’s leading states in terms of creating an information security system and ensuring its effective functioning. This requires our state to intensify efforts for defending national information sovereignty, intensify measures aimed primarily at combating Russian aggressive propaganda, reduce “digital divide” with the world’s leading powers, develop and disseminate effective cybersecurity programs, and so on.
